Student Church 6th-12th Grade

Our mission is to lead this generation of students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our purpose is that those same students then become disciple makers, actively involved in His church. Reaching people in need of His love & wrecking this world for Jesus!

Youth meets Wednesday’s from 6:30-8:30pm at the Ministry Center (1090 5th Street, Calimesa, CA 92320)

Junior High Ministry

Our Jr-High Students have lots of fun ways to get plugged in here at Sanctuary.

Sunday mornings we meet from 9:30-11:15A in the “Student Center” – Edge Room & Wednesday nights we meet from 6:30-8:30P also in The Edge Room.

Our goal is to create a cool, fun, atmosphere where the Jr. High students (6th-8th grade) can be themselves and still hear the transforming truth of the Gospel. The Edge room in the Student Center is a really cool space, with comfortable couches, cool lights, an amazing live band, and so much more. In regards to the Jr-High ministry, we want to give the J-High students the opportunity to open up in small groups and have a real connection with the Creator. We’ve created a place where they can be fun, loud, crazy, and transparently talk about the relevant issues in which they are dealing with. In addition to our weekly meetings we also have monthly events and service projects aimed at getting them out of their comfort zones and putting their faith into action.

High School Ministry

Our High School Students have some awesome ways to get plugged in here at Sanctuary.

Sunday mornings we meet from 9:30-11:15A in the “Student Center” – Lounge Room & Wednesday nights we meet from 6:30-8:30 in the “Student Center” – Edge room.

Our aim is to create a space that High School students can easily identify with, and feel comfortable enough to open up with others on a deeper level. The Lounge room in the Student Center has a really cool vibe with a coffee/snack bar, couches, cafe tables, xbox, and so much more.

With the awesome space it gives us the opportunity to have meaningful connections and in depth bible studies while still having the “cool” factor. In Matthew 28 we see Jesus calling all of us into service with the great commission. We believe that our Students have just as much responsibility in His church as the main sanctuary does. So with that in mind we’ve given them different opportunities to live out their faith, for instance we have weekly bible studies with discipleship in mind, monthly outreach events geared toward serving others, and yearly service projects to help the needy.

In addition to all these amazing opportunities we also have monthly events for Jr-High & High school like cosmic bowling, broomball, skating, mini golf, bonfires, etc.

We would love to invite all Jr-High & High school students to come out and get plugged in to all the sweet things going on here at Sanctuary. So if you’re a student from 6th-12th grade we look forward to seeing you this week!

Mike Thompson

Pastor

I started volunteering with students at a church in Redlands in 2004 and I haven’t stopped since. When I heard Pastor Rod was going to start a church in 2007, I knew God wanted me to join him and help with students. Since then, God has done some awesome things in me and it has been a great adventure. Over the last few years I have enjoyed seeing broken students be authentic & REAL, experience the REAL love of Jesus & leave CHANGED with a fresh HOPE! I love being a dad to my two fun, crazy kids! I love and appreciate my smoking hot wife, who is my best friend! Some of my favorite things are skittles, brownies, dark chocolate caramels, being spontaneous, having fun with friends, off-roading, and shooting.

Ministry Assistant

I’m a wife to Michael and a mommy to two fun, energetic kids. I enjoy being silly, laughing loudly, entertaining guests, eating desserts, working out, drinking lots of coffee and being challenged to change by God’s Word. I love to see people come into God’s church broken and leave with a fresh, restored spirit. I have a passion for students! A passion that burns deep inside me that is hard to explain. A passion to see them find who God has called them to be and take a stand in their generation. A passion to see them be used by God at an early age. A passion for them to know that God’s love for them isn’t dictated by their actions and it can’t be earned. A passion to introduce them to the same Jesus that has saved me. I get to do lots of behind the scenes work for both our student ministry and for Sanctuary Church and love it!
